Article One: The Number One Secret of Top Performers by Terri Roulette McCartney

Whether it is a conscious decision on their part or not, top performers focus on developing their innate abilities rather than on correcting their perceived weaknesses.

It is a simple distinction, but one that separates the common and the ordinary from the people performing at the top of their field. Successful people move with the tide, developing their innate abilities into world-class strengths. They spend little time trying to correct a weakness.

Top Performers align themselves with peers who have complementary abilities. This effective team-building creates a positive synergy that allows each member to perform at their peak, doing activities that come naturally to them.

Take a look at what you enjoy doing the most as part of your current sales process. Do you get a rush from researching new prospects? Do you love cold-calling prospects to book a meeting? Maybe you lose track of time when researching a new prospect. Maybe you love that first meeting with a prospect. Does your rush come from having an interesting encounter with a prospect? Does your high come from closing the sale? Do you love developing the relationship with a new client?

If you don’t enjoy any of the above, you should think carefully about what your innate calling is. Whatever activity you perform that you can easily lose track of time in is a clue to what comes naturally to you. When you can effortlessly perform a task, this is another clue about where your natural abilities lie.

Next, look at the activities that you do not enjoy. Is there a way for you to structure your business in such a way that you don’t have to perform those activities? You could align yourself with an assistant or a partner (you can split commissions or pay an hourly rate) the solution is really only limited to what your imagination allows you to think.

Perhaps you have the much documented fear of cold-calling, but absolutely love being in front of a prospect, developing a new relationship. If this is the case, look for someone who enjoys making connections behind the scenes. There are people out there who love cold-calling! These people might love the research that is involved in determining a suitable prospect. They could love the detective work involved in finding out who the right person is to speak with. If you don’t like cold-calling, don’t worry about it. Align yourself with someone who enjoys it to free yourself up to focus on what you’re great at. This is a very simple solution to a complex problem faced by millions of people. Allow yourself to do what you love, paving the way for other people to do what they love.

A focus on strengths-development has the potential to:

- Radically improve on-the-job performance
- Enhance your overall sense of satisfaction
- Train the mind to focus on The Good
- Build enduring and supportive teams
- Reduce your need to conform to others expectations
- Eliminate boundaries to your success
- Improve your self-confidence
- Draw people towards your positive energy and outlook on life

You have the capacity within you to infinitely create, extend kindness and see good everywhere. This can all start by keeping your focus on your own unique abilities and innate strengths. You have the power to leave people with the lasting feeling of inspiration simply be keeping a positive focus on strengths and seeing the good all around you. It is this lasting sensation that elevates you above the common and the ordinary.

Article Two: Top Tips for Link Popularity by David Reilly

Following his recent article on link popularity David provides his top tips for using the technique known as link baiting to improve the search engine ranking for your site.

Free Tools
Think along the lines of mortgage calculators and site-checking tools, then expand into your particular area of business/operation.

Collaborative Work Documents
Working in concert with others is a good way to produce content more quickly and with generally higher quality. If you can get high-profile insiders or several known persons in an industry to collaborate, your chances for developing link-bait substantially increase.

Top 10 Lists
Numbered lists of tips, links, resources, etc, particularly those that rank items, can be a great way to generate buzz. These lists often promote discussion and thus, referencing. Good for bookmarking websites like delicious or reddit.

Industry-Related Humour
Even the most serious of industries can use a bit of humor now and again. For example you could try exposés being cautious not to offend (although that too can merit mentions). Use your knowledge of stereotypes and history inside your market to get topical laughs and the links will be yours.

Reviews of Sector Events
Industry gatherings, from conferences to speeches and seminars, can all garner great links with a well-done review. Write professionally, as a journalist, and attempt to use as many full names as possible. It's also wise to link out to all the folks you mention, as they will see the links in their referral logs and come check you out.

Surveys or Collections of Data
Offering large collections of industry data culled from polling individuals, an online survey, or simply researching and aggregating data can provide a very link-worthy resource.

Film or Animation
Particularly in industries where video clips or animations are rare (i.e. Geology, not Movie Reviews), a high quality, entertaining, or informative video or animation can get more than a few folks interested.

Charts, Graphs, or Spreadsheets
These standard business graphics should certainly include analysis and dissection, and can provide a good source of links if promoted and built properly.

High Profile Criticism
Well-written critiques of popular products, companies, sites, or individuals in a sector have the ability to pull in quite a few links from folks who agree and disagree.

Contests, Giveaways, and Competitions
Giving away prizes or public awards (even if they're just website graphics) can get a lot of online folks interested and linking.

Trend-Spotting
Identifying a story or scoop ahead of the crowd. Do this online, and all (or many) blog posts on the subject will reference your site as the first to "call it."

Advice from Multiple Experts
If you're creating an article that offers advice, pulling opinions from the well-known experts in the industry is a great way to make sure links flow your way. The experts themselves will often be inclined to link.

Blogging
Imagine yourself as an industry blogger, seeking to cover the most exciting, unique trends and pages in the sector. If this individual stumbled across your content, would they be likely to write about it? Also a comprehensive list of blogs in your niche - link out, and links will come in.

Press Release: Are Recruiters Losing the Technology Race to Employers?
"Two of the recruitment industry’s most notable commentators on technology and innovation are concerned that employers have seized the initiative from recruiters in terms of incorporating technology to enhance and streamline the recruitment process. Colin Minto and Gareth Osborne of Bornto have issued a stark warning to recruiters to catch up and engage with existing and emerging technologies to stay ahead of the game in terms of candidate attraction, processing, matching and selection and the correct application of recruitment software or risk giving employers the upper hand in the so called ‘War for Talent’. Colin and Gareth can be contacted at www.bornto.net"

Press Release: New Partnership Strengthens Jobsite Reach
"From 9th May, Jobsite (www.jobsite.co.uk) will become the national recruitment partner of Northcliffe Media’s ‘this is’ network of 36 local newspaper websites (eg. www.thisisbristol.co.uk).
